You
will probably reach this type of page
in general sections of the site. You
can use the icons (A) or drop menu
(C) to move on

A
typical section page with its home
icon (left A), main section items
selector (B) and detailed drop menu
(C) for access to all regular section
pages. A changeable static menu (D)
provides onward links to temporary
pages and others.
The dynamic news area (E) entry point
is its heading.

The
fixture list area (F) is also dynamically
created and amendable. Text/Lists
(H) will often have hotlinks to other
pages or sites, with pictures (I)
perhaps to enlarged views

Graphics

views. Some pages have specific features,
usually indicated by graphics or icons

The
structure of the site follows a fairly regular
pattern. Each section displays its own sub-section
menu (B) (the strip menu at the top) and
a more detailed pop-up menu (C) which can
be accessed on demand. General pages - such
as those applicable to all sections or to
PoloFarm - usually have a combination of
icon menus (A) and static menus (D) as shown
and described above.
-
In addition to the obvious, "hotspot"
graphics will be added to reveal additional
material or pictures.
- You
can do no long-term harm by entering any
of the so-called "dynamic" areas
unintentionally - most are protected by
a simple password set. (All entries are
logged, however, as a precaution against
abuse.)
NB
If you have password authorisation to
amend sections of the web-site, instructions
for doing so can be found in the relevant
section.
- Many
of the features will remain unusable if
you attempt to view the site with an "old"
browser. The design of the site is geared
towards the majority of users who will
be using Internet Explorer, and more recent
versions (4+/5+) of that. There are some
basic alternatives for browsers unable
to display dynamic sections of the site
- fixtures and snippet pages may have
to viewed on separate pages.
Of the latest browsers,
Netscape 6 is not backwards compatible
with earlier versions and does not support
"layers" used for the on-demand
pop-up floating menu system of this site.
Until the product reaches a stable release
state (it is very buggy at present) there
is no point in changing the site back
and forwards to fit its requirements.
Please use the static menu system (D)
and the site map icon (A) to go to the
page you wish to view. You will find it
a good idea to bookmark these for convenient
future access.
Opera 5+ likewise does not support the
floating menu system.Like Netscape 6 it
does, however, display the fixture and
snippet sections. Netscape may stall and
mis-display this and other areas from
time to time. These are bugs.
For these reasons it makes sense to join
the 80% of 'Net users who find themselves
using the latest versions of Internet
Explorer (v5+) - this includes AOL browsers,
incidentally! The
fact they own Netscape indicates the readiness
of the Netscape 6 product for use....
- Please refer to PoloPOST - 'Using
This Site' for further details
- And,
finally, the little entry below this that
says "Previous" will take you
to your previous page unless that page
has opened in a new viewing window.
- Please send an email to sitecheck@polofarm.org
if you come across a problem such as a
'broken' link or something else that doesn't
seem to work properly.
