We are looking forward to our 23nd successive Easter Hockey Tournament in 2004 and would like to invite you to participate by sending a team (or teams) to enter one or more of the competitions and to enjoy with us what is a fantastic weekend of friendship, fun and entertainment!
We anticipate following the same format of the last couple of years with 40 teams, to include the higher level of hockey (at or near National League standard) in the Men's Cup, and some more "club" level games otherwise!

Camping at the ground will be available again this year at a cost of £5 per person per night. The tourney is "early" this year so please bring warm kit and dry spares!
As always we are operating on a "first come first served" basis, applications have already started to arrive, so an early response is vital if you wish to book your team's place!
This year the entry fee is £300 per team (13 players per team - £10 per additional person) to include entry to all the evening entertainments. Any umpire (not player-umpire) able to participate in the "pool" will be a welcome guest for the weekend, at no charge and with free drink and food vouchers (please submit names in advance).
A deposit of £150 per team to be paid as soon as possible, with the balance to be paid by March 10th. As in the past deposits are non returnable unless numbers are already over-subscribed. Please complete as fully as possible the entry form and return it with your deposit to teams co-ordinator Catherine Di Mauro at the address on the entry form. ... Last Year
The 22nd Easter festival 2003 involved 26 mens sides, and 16 womens sides. The tournament consisted of a Ladies Cup competition, a Mens Cup Competition, and a Mens Plate Competition, with all the finals being played on Bank Holiday Monday morning on Canterbury's water based astro pitch.
The weather was kind and although it turned a bit cold at times, it remained dry allowing two grass pitches to be used in addition to the club and local all-weather pitches. This appeared to add to the enjoyment of the games for many players and it was good to see some old grass pitch skills in action again! Games were played from 10 am each morning through until past 7 pm each night and this was aided by the use of lights on the club's two artificial pitches.
Most teams had a number of National League players, with many University based sides either current or past coming from all parts of the UK as well as old friends Galway and a Dutch side playing under name of The Chipmunks, also previous visitors like many of our guest teams.
With live entertainment organised each afternoon and evening this has become a particularly popular tournament, and great stamina is required by all participants! Camping at the event has become hugely popular and most participants chose to stay in the tented village
The winners of the Mens Cup were Preston Produce Allstars (at the seventh attempt and less blessed this year with top players!), the winners of the Plate were United Hospitals, and the winners of the Womens Cup were Gr8s. The Fair Play award went to The Mirkins
If sides are interested in participating in the 2004 extravaganza they should get in touch with Canterbury HC as soon as possible via the contacts below. Please add your name to the mailing list (see panel alongside) if you wish to receive details.
