CANTERBURY tennis at polo farm
We are fortunate in the support we have received and continue to receive from organisations and individuals who love tennis and recognise the health and social benefits of belonging to a vibrant sports club like Polo Farm.
With thanks to:
Polo Farm has had a long association with Canterbury Christ Church University, with arrangements for sharing facilities and special membership rates for the students and staff of the university.
In 2015 this relationship got a whole lot closer. The sale of some land by Polo Farm plus on-going funding from the University has enabled investment in a new indoor centre for various sports and more developments to come.
As part of this new partnership, our excellent hockey and cricket pitches will get greater use during weekdays when they are not needed by the clubs’ teams. Already Christ Church staff and students represent 16% of the Tennis Club membership, and we look forward to more joining us.
Our strikingly modern Pavilion was made possible by a £50,000 grant from Sport England through its ‘Inspired Facilities’ initiative. This is proving a tremendous asset for members, visiting teams and the parents of our juniors on cold damp days.
