CANTERBURY tennis at polo farm
Tennis is a great game with lots to offer younger players. We love this sport and we hope that we can help your child discover a passion for the game. Our comprehensive programme offers children of all ages from 3-18 lots of opportunities to play the sport. We have groups that cater for any skill level, from “never picked up a racquet” to aspiring Wimbledon champions. Sessions are delivered in small groups by dedicated and enthusiastic coaches, with a coach:player ratio of 1:6.
Children, depending on their level of enthusiasm, may choose from one of two pathways; Club or Academy.
CLUB: Aimed at players who are looking to play one to three times a week and develop into competent club tennis players, potentially competing locally at junior and adult level.
ACADEMY: Aimed at players looking to play at a high level, competing regionally, nationally and internationally.
We offer a range of HOLIDAY COURSES, from intensive tuition to multi-sports camps. If you'd like to join us speak or email Lina.
We currently have a junior membership of over 300 children with 25 players in the Junior Academy and Senior Academy, many of whom compete regionally, nationally and internationally. Over the past few years, players have won a host of county championships, have represented Kent in County Cup and have competed at the British National Championships and we have our first junior player to represent Great Britain.
We have a thriving junior section with a friendly, fun club atmosphere that offers opportunities for children of all ages and standards. These include a weekly club night, in-house matchplays and being part of a team in local leagues. Social events include pizza nights, rounders’ matches, barbecues and our annual House Cup party.
We also provide coaching at a number of primary schools in the Canterbury area.
