2014/15 season

FRIARS  – Kent Men’s Outdoor  – Open Division 3

FINAL LEAGUE POSITION: 7 out of 11

Now into their third season of league hockey which has rejuvenated this team and mid table is always their modest but realistic aim. Once again with the oldest (Tony Jones 71 or 72 - honest and in his eighth decade) and youngest player (Matty Bye 14) epitomised what club hockey is like in the lower reaches of any club with an age profile the envy of many a team - not! Such is their competitive spirit that they managed to pick up two cards during the season!

FRIARS   – Kent Men’s Outdoor  – Open Division 3

FINAL LEAGUE POSITION:  6 out of 11

Were another contender for team of the year (shurely not, a step too far - ed)! Having decided at a very impromptu end of a 2012 season meeting to play League hockey (as their normal opposition were dying off) they surprised themsleves by finishing mid-table 6th which was NOT in the bottom Kent League. They enjoyed their season hugely, admitted helped by youngsters Pete Young and Alex Williams who both got over 10 goals apiece. Tony Jones with ever good humour entered his eighth decade and will still be skipper for next season.

LEAGUE  : Kent Open Div 3
