Welcome to Canterbury Mens Hockey Club 2011/12 season
|
Canterbury Hockey Club is one of the largest hockey clubs in the country and fields ten mens sides, five ladies sides, cup sides, tournament sides, a mixed side, a midweek side and has very strong youth and school sections. Each operates in its own organisational structure but collectively form a powerful presence on the hockey sport scene from local, regional, national and international perspectives.
The mens section has stars both past and present, including Great Britain international Sean Kerly, (Olympic Gold medallist in 1988) to Ross Gilham-Jones who captained England U18’s in the Home Nations in 2010, you are assured an excellent blend of entertaining and competitive hockey throughout the club.
We have
- Two floodlit water-based pitches & one sand pitch with floodlights
- Sunday morning coaching for boys and girls from age 9
- Competitive and friendly hockey for all abilities and age groups

2011-2012 Season
This season see’s the 1st XI drop into the East Conference League having struggled last year to find their form in the National Premier league. However, with new skipper Michael Farrer at the helm and a strong blend of both youth and experience in the squad, confidence is high and the aim is to be back in the top league before too long. Highly regarded Trinidad & Tobago International, Kwan Browne, will again be providing his expertise and experience as player coach for the team.
Club Coaching

Canterbury Kit
Canterbury playing shirts are supplied by the Captains of each team. Details of a new arrangement for all other playing kit including track suits, kit bags and wet weather gear will be available soon.
Club Training - Starts 15th September
Wednesday Evenings
6.30 - 8.00pm - Everyone welcome, young and old, fit or not, new and old members.
