Canterbury 3rd XI made it four from four on Saturday when they recorded another very convincing win against High Halstow C.C. at Polo Farm. Winning the toss, skipper Steve Lamyman kept faith in his well performing bowlers and decided to give the visitors first knock to post a challenging score. However, it was the impressive Canterbury opening bowlers Will Trafford and Zakir Rostami that took the honours. Zakir recorded 3 for 26 from his 11 overs while Will took 1 for 31 in his 12 overs. It was then left to the 'old maestro' himself, Trevor Minter to clear up the tail, returning figures of 9.3 overs, 3 maidens, 3 for 18. The other wicket takers were Tony Michell and James Sibthorpe who took one apiece.
The target was reached by the Canterbury batsmen in just 18 overs and for the loss of just one wicket. James Askham (51 not out) and James Sampson (32) almost saw us home without losing any wickets but with the loss of Mr. Sampson it was left for the skipper, Steve Lamyman to put himself into the fold and secure a very vital 1 not out for his yearly average!!
