The 1st XI travelled to Maidstone expecting to find a much harder challenge than they actually got against The Mote C.C. who had found some rejuvenated form over the past few weeks. The Mote won the toss and decided to bat first and hopefully look to set an imposing score for Canterbury to chase. This never materialised and was all due to some excellent bowling from all bowlers used by skipper Tim Wren. Both Justin McVicar (1 for 4 from 6 overs) and Damian Minter (1 for 18 from 12 overs) tied the top order down and was assisted by Ryan Minter who bowled his 8 overs for just 9 runs and taking 3 of The Mote wickets in doing so. The Mote's innings almost ground to a halt as they limped to 108 for 8 from their entire 50 allotted overs.
Canterbury's reply could not have been different reaching the 109 runs required in just 16 overs. Matt Jenkinson (33) lead the charge with Neil Gowers who remained undefeated on 29. Caiden Lang helped Neil to the target with an unbeaten 39.

Canterbury leap-frog The Mote into 3rd place in the league and will now entertain newly promoted Tenterden C.C. at Polo Farm on Saturday.
