Canterbury 3rd XI fell 21 runs short in their first ever fixture in Kent Cricket Feeder League East against Kennington C.C. on Saturday. The home side won the toss and elected to bat and reached a challenging 221 for 7 in the 46 overs allowed per side in this competition. The pick of the Canterbury bowlers was the 'Evergreen' Trevor Minter who recorded figures of 11-0-48-4 with Mitch Weatherley and Mark Bradley taking a wicket apiece.

Canterbury's reply was built around a solid 78 from Mitch Weatherley who was given good support from James Hutchings with 32. Once Mitch was dismissed on 151 for 5 the task became difficult and the side were all out for 200.

Canterbury 3rds skipper Steve Lamyman said "In the end we collected 10 points in our first outing in the Feeder
League and the teams we are playing are much stronger this year but the side worked really hard."
