REGISTRATION EVENING
All members and their parents are invited to a Registration Evening on Tuesday 15th April from 6pm onwards where they will be given the opportunity to meet club officials, the coaching staff and team managers. Existing members will be asked to complete the junior membership record form.
New colts will receive a welcome pack containing details of the club’s policies with regard to juniors and the necessary forms to enable them to sign up for the summer season. These forms can be completed on the night or returned the following week. The cost which covers membership of Canterbury Cricket Club, net fees, match fees and a registration fee for the A.K.C.C. League and Cup competitions is £40.
Members should note that payment of their subscription is due at the start of the season and failure to pay by 31st May will mean that they will not be allowed to join in any training sessions or matches until their subscription is paid.
OUTDOOR NETS/TRAINING SESSIONS
Outdoor practice/training sessions will start at Polo Farm on Tuesday 22nd April 2008 from 6 - 7.30 p.m. and every Tuesday thereafter until the middle of July.
NEW CRICKET GROUND
I am pleased to report that Canterbury Cricket Club has received a grant of over £40,000 from the Community Cricket Development Programme which is administered by the England and Wales Cricket Board. The grant will help the club finance the construction of a new cricket ground at the Polo Farm Sports Club complex. Work on the project will begin in the next few weeks and it is envisaged that the new ground will be ready for use in 2010.
KWIK CRICKET
The club will be running kwik cricket sessions at Polo Farm Sports club every Saturday morning from 09.30 – 11.30 starting on 26th April. The sessions are for primary school boys and girls in Y1 – Y6.
The cost is £3 per week. Equipment will be provided.
